What I’m Listening to Tonight: Yelle — Pop-Up

This is French techno-pop-type stuff with a distinct 80s sound. It’s cheesy and dancy and you probably don’t even need to understand French to enjoy it. If you do, though, it’s that much better because the lyrics are awfully clever and witty. Here are two tracks from the album Pop-Up:

“À cause des garçons” (A cover - the original band is also called “à cause des garçons.” Confusing, non?)

I’m coming in from the other blog and what do I run into? French culture. Oh dear. It’s not your fault, it’s just that I’m homicidal when it comes to the French at the moment. You see, I don’t like them anymore. No sir. My “experience” in France has been, well, terrible. On my evil scientist list of things to do (yes, we all keep one, but secret) “Destroy France with prejudice” is at the top of my list. Why, just hearing French sets me off into epileptic fits, so I’d best head back to your other blog - the one lacking Frenchness.

But the non-French content here is pretty cool!

What, ME, watch The Hills? Um, of course not….heh. Actually there is a “Guilty Pleasure Confession” coming up on that very topic!
